- complete reconstruction and modernization
The company InterSono has realized its most prestigious and extensive order up to this time for ČEZ arena, Ostrava, Czech Republic.
From autumn 2003 till April 2004 (the beginning of the World Hockey Championship) InterSono coordinated a great number of professionals, experts and specialized teams of subcontractors. Full hall reconstruction was carried out and old technology was exchanged for new technology.
Weak current systems
Structured cabling was installed with connections to intranet, ethernet and internet. We installed 125 television receivers in a light-current area. About 200 personal computers were connected in the press center. The turnstile entrance system was connected with ticket offices. The CCTV system uses five remote control cameras and two portable cameras. Image production employs another three signals for post-production. The signal output is also on two large-scale screens (5,7×4,5 m without a scoreboard and 9,2×4,9 m with scoreboard included).
Mechanical Systems
Computers also control the mechanical equipment, push-out stands and traction systems, which enables the hall to be used for other uses rather than sports. The electrical power input for the lighting system is 735 kW. There are 394 lights used, as well as 24 „intelligent“ lights, machines for fog and fuming, etc. An original product from InterSono called the ERASER® light dimming system was also installed – an unusual on/off dimmer that provides complete darkness within an entire sports hall.
Acoustics
ČEZ Arena was equiped with special acoustical elements, located on the ceiling of the arena. The sound system includes, equipment for sound production, a digital sound processor, outputs on bridges and speakers under the ceiling of the hall. Our own products were developed: DUESBINE for sound expansion and NAXOS for inter-communication. Computers also drive the control of air-systems and technology for ice and cooling. Every technology system can work separately (also due to safety reasons). The entire hall is centrally controlled from a control room.
